Good evening ladies and gentlemen,
Gambling, one of the worst ways to earn easy money. This is what the government is teaching the Singaporean society with the construction of the Integrated Resort. I am sure that most of us believe that gambling is bad so why turn to it now? Therefore, I am here today to explain why the Integrated Resort(IR) should not be built.

With the casinos built, it would lure more people to gamble at the casino. Hard core gamblers,would spent more money there, trying their luck.This can result into losses for them as they are most likely to lose their money. Desperate, they might turn to loansharks to borrow money to clear debts. With all the interest increasing,it is almost impossible for the gamblers to repay their debts. Desperate, some might try to rob or steal while some decide to end it once and for all, committing suidcide.

When the interest in gambling grows as time passes, so does the worrying rich and poor gap. This would cause a fairly stable economy in Singapore to falter at a greater possibility than the present. Singapore would then need to take years, possibly decades to rebuild a once great economy.The image of a clean Singapore might just be at risk.

The casino will attract dubious tourists who may commit crimes and this will make our city unsafe. When dubious foreigners who love to gamble come into Singapore, they might gamble all of their money and turn to loan sharks for more money to gamble, or even resort to stealing or other crimes, thus Singapore's crime rate will increase. The addiction to gambling is hard to get rid of. The crimes the foreigners might commit will, indeed, endanger citizen's lifes and safety.

Abortion has many cons as compared to the pros. Hence , abortion should not be made legal. Not only will the child suffer but the mother will too. To the extent where the mother could actually die due to the excessive lost of vital blood from the mother's body. This would inturn lead to possibly death! It would leave a scar both on the mother's heart and also physically on her. The mother will then have to cope with the tremendous guilt of abortion.The mother may also go through out her whole life without another baby even though when she's ready all as a result of abortion.

Abortion would definitely affaect the mother greatly. The guilt felt by the mother could lead to she having withdrwal symptoms. Depression is one of them and this would lead to isolation from the rest. The mother could then become paranoid with herself and continuosly blaming herself upon killing a helpless and innocent soul. As a result , this may drive her to the extent of suicide feeling that she deserves it.

There are many problems that parents face when their child is deformed. Has it ever crossed your mind? Do you think that the innocent child should be born and let to suffer on this earth by some crooked stereotypes who look down upon them? Think of emotional damage this might have on the parents as well as the child. Therefore, they would rather choose to abort it and save their child the pain of a cruel future instead of letting their child suffer from the taunting of people. Just imagine the reluctance of these mothers at the thought of murdering their own flesh and blood.

Abortion methods, like most surgical procedures, carry a small potential for serious complications, including perforated uterus, perforated bowel or bladder, sterility and death. The risk of complications can increase depending on how far pregnancy has progressed. Dilation of the cervix carries the risk of cervical tears or perforations, including small tears that might not be apparent and might cause cervical incompetence in future pregnancies. Instruments that are placed within the uterus can cause perforation or laceration of the uterus, and damage structures surrounding the uterus. Laceration or perforation of the uterus or cervix can lead to more serious complications. Incomplete emptying of the uterus can also cause hemorrhage and infection. Also, the mother will most likely feel guilt and remorse after the abortion and this can lead to depression. In serious cases, this can also lead to suicide.

Jerrome was out with his celebrity girlfriend, Gwenda Tay. They were invited to attend a function organised by the Kiong enterprise. The Kiong enterprise was a well known international company and Jerrome was honoured to be invited by the enterprise. As Gwenda was the star of the event, Jerrome was full of confidence when he entered the function room. Flashes went off and both of them sauntered to their table. After the dinner, everyone was invited to dance. As the star, Gwenda was obliged to lead the dance. This was when Jerrome felt the pressure started panicking. The first few steps went on fine, but after everyone joined in, mistakes came one after another. Gwenda stepped on Jerrome's feet on many occasions because of this. This caused a sharp pain on Jerrome's feet. He lumbered back to his table hoping that nobody would actually see him limping. However, his actions was caught by several people. Gwenda felt embarrased and after the function, she initiated a breakup.
Devastated, Jerrome went to the pub and drank heavily. He staggered to the nearby taxi stand but the pain on his feet was so great that he had to totter around. Drunk, Jerrome started to have suicidal thoughts and dashed out into the roads.

He ROAMED around the area, pretending to be a passer-by. As soon as the last person disappeared down the lane, he immediately fished out his picklock and got into the house as quietly as a mouse. As he GROPED around in the dark, searching for the valuable gold necklace his boss had wanted him to get, his leg accidentally kicked something hard. A sharp pain shot through his shin as he HOBBLED into the master bedroom. Unfortunately, the mistress had heard the noise and had woken up in a fright. He quickly hid behind the cabinet and poked his head out to see what she was doing. The mistress grabbed the badminton racket beside the bed and tiptoed into the kitchen. Taking this chance, he crawled out of his hiding place and opened the cabinet without a sound. The mistress passed the door of the bedroom and went into the store room. He SLINKED back into his hiding place hurriedly, for fear of being seen. Then, after a few moments of silence, he made a dash for the door and escaped with the box of jewellery in his hands……

Someone tapped her shoulder, making her spin round. She saw someone creeping out from the darkness. She started moving backwards but she stumbled and fell. It was then that one of her classmates, Jack, strolled past the alleyway she was in. She shouted out to him and upon seeing Jack, the person slinked away. Jack swaggered away feeling like a hero. But, unfortunately, he tripped and fell face flat onto a dirty puddle of water...

Death, guilt , murder ? These are just some after effects of abortion, would you be able to kill your own child? The value of life, priceless. Guilt would always be edged on your heart. Excessive loss of blood could lead to the death of the mother too. Henceforth, abortion should not be legalised.
